Yuba City, CA – Sutter Surgical Hospital – North Valley (SSHNV) introduces the beginning of a new era in quality health care for the Yuba-Sutter community. Experienced, qualified and skilled staff is what SSHNV will offer the community and Sutter Surgical Hospital’s management team has 122 years of combined management experience to implement this new era in quality health care.
Heading the management team is Toni Morris, CEO of SSHNV. Morris assumed her post in July 2007. She was the administrator of the Coral Desert Surgery and Imaging Centers in St. George, Utah. Morris has served as western region director of business development for HealthSouth, one of the nation’s largest health care service providers. She earned her Master’s in organizational management from University of Phoenix.
“Morris’ diligence and vivaciousness is just what SSHNV needs to provide the support for a unified staff and making a difference to the lives of those we serve,” says orthopedic surgeon Richard Tortosa, M.D., a Sutter Surgical Hospital – North Valley partner and board member.
Tortosa adds, “Morris’ commitment is unsurpassed and is a huge asset to SSHNV and the Yuba-Sutter community.” Morris has 23 years of experience in the health care industry and positions her to work side by side with the management team at SSHNV.
Renee Schroyer, Chief Financial Officer for SSHNV has 15 years of health care finance experience as well as a degree in accounting and an MBA. Schroyer’s management, financial, and health care background will provide her the experience needed to achieve the hospital’s goals. Working with Morris, Schroyer looks forward to utilizing her experiences to financially position SSHNV in the community and ensure that all patients in the area receive the same experience regardless of ability to pay. Schroyer joins SSHNV from Fremont-Rideout Health Group as the Director of Financial Services and previously responsible and leading monthly, quarterly, and annual preparation of financial statements and reporting for the organization. Schroyer brings to SSHNV her ability of implementation, direct and coordinate of financial responsibilities.
Dale Bowman, Chief Nursing Officer joins SSHNV February 2009 from Roseville Surgery Center where she held the title of surgery center administrator for two years. Bowman has 35 years of experience, her background nursing and ambulatory surgery is an ideal fit to achieve the hospital’s goals. Bowman’s most notable and recent responsibilities and leading include preparation of Joint Commission accreditation, coordinate and direct the administrative and clinical activities. Prior to Roseville Surgery Center, Bowman worked as a surgery center administrator for Providence Surgery Center for ten years.
Other members of the SSHNV management team include Yvonne Ingram, Medical Records Manager; Adam Barton, Materials Manager; Dwaine Goodwin, Plant Operations Manager; Heather Platter, Head Chef and Dietary Manager; Cindy Jeter, Human Resources and Credentialing Manager; and Barinder Thiara, Imaging Department Manager.

SSHNV offers state-of-the-art technology, 14 private hospital-style inpatient rooms, four operating suites and one procedure. In addition, the surgical hospital offers large and comfortable waiting areas, imaging center including digital x-ray and open MRI.
The surgical hospital is a joint venture between Yuba City Independent Physicians, National Surgical Hospitals, Inc. and Sutter North Medical Foundation.
